Established by the visionary Alexander Kolpin and meticulously designed by Pernille Lind and Richy Almond of Studio Lind + Almond, the hotel balances refined curation with a deeply relaxed, residential charm. This masterful orchestration of space and service was justly recognized when it was named Hotel of the Year by the World Travel Awards.
Sanders reimagines the traditional luxury experience across four distinct, foundational touchpoints:
1. Booking process
The journey began with an intuitive, seamless online booking experience that immediately felt personalized. Upon completion, I received a warm, tailored welcome email directly from the guest relations manager. This initial touchpoint set a thoughtful tone, shifting the interaction away from standard automated protocols and toward genuine care.
2. Upon arrival
Stepping into Hotel Sanders feels like entering the private home of a well-traveled friend. The atmosphere is defined by an immediate sense of warmth, completely devoid of institutional stiffness or pretension. Despite arriving far ahead of the standard check-in time, the reception team handled my early arrival with effortless grace. This seamless welcome, paired with a carefully curated staff presentation and an authentic sense of English accessibility, contributes significantly to the unique, relaxed ambiance of the hotel.
3. My room
Hotel Sanders excels at creating a sense of "cozy luxury". My room was a masterclass in mid-century international design, blending elegant chestnut furniture, textured wallpaper, and hand-selected artwork. Distinct from the generic offerings of typical luxury hotels, the room featured a high-quality, complimentary minibar—a subtle yet impactful gesture that replaces transactional friction with generous hospitality. This thoughtful curation extended to the breakfast menu, which accommodated diverse dietary preferences with ease. Every detail worked in tandem to craft a deeply comforting, authentic environment.

My interaction with room service was imbued with an air of refined hospitality. The room service staff member, elegantly attired, brought a jug of water infused with fresh mint. 5. Sanders Kitchen
Sanders Kitchen exuded a cozy, homey, and relaxed atmosphere. During breakfast, the open-kitchen concept allowed me to watch the personnel meticulously prepare each dish, adding a beautiful layer of transparency and craftsmanship to the morning.
The dinner experience was equally remarkable. As someone who strictly follows a gluten-free and sugar-free diet, I am highly accustomed to limited choices when dining out. However, at Sanders, the chef personally approached my table with a thoughtful offer to craft a custom dish tailored specifically to my dietary needs. This gesture of genuine care and willingness to go the extra mile transformed a potentially restrictive meal into a truly enjoyable highlight.
Post-dinner, this intuitive care seamlessly extended into the public living room area. While relaxing by the fireplace, I was pleasantly surprised when a staff member—remembering that I had skipped dessert during dinner—proactively offered to prepare a fresh fruit bowl for me. This exceptional level of situational awareness and memory is incredibly rare in hospitality, adding a deeply personal touch that made the stay unforgettable.

The attentive care persisted right up to the final departure. A staff member approached with a thoughtful inquiry: would I enjoy a bottle of water for my journey to the airport? This final interaction addressed a common, immediate travel need before it even arose, leaving a lasting impression. It was a fitting conclusion to a stay defined by consistently attentive, personalized service.
